I tried lots ways to share pro hdr photos to save them and keep the date taken rather than copy the hdr file of photo's and so far they seem to share best with 'pic say pro' app.

I started a couple of pinterest boards, adding stuff via my android xperia...but it's not so simple to add descriptive text...the keyboard doesn't stay long enough to write anything. I settled for one alphabet character and then in edit mode could add info.
I think there's an iphone app but no android yet.

sd card failed!! amazing App Monster app

So sad, after downloading a couple if new apps (i cleared a few app caches like a secondary browser to make some space), ie pintail (find your phone if it's lost app) photo gallery widget (bigtime app maker) and blender image...the photo gallery tried to load all my photos instead of letting me choose a file...so the phone crashed but started up again ok. So after deleting the app, about an hour or so on, i had an unmounted sd card message...i didnt want to format it, chose cancel and thought a simple mount sd card would sort it...wrong!! And i hadnt backed up the last weeks awsome lovely landscape photo's
The end result was a new sd card (neither orange or sony or pc world, my sd card adapter and pc or downloaded software to run an sd card scan...5 hours on a 16Gb card...that was midnite to 5.30am could resurrect anything!!)
However, i had an 8Gb card back up so copied it to a new card...50% of my apps had changed since i backed them up!! The new card worked ok and i thought i was in for a week of downloading...but AWSOME App Monster app backup system on the phone found them and it was all sorted...except dozy me had not copied my pic gallery...hope theres some sunshiny days to take the photos again...about 150 of them...what a weekend..

Pro HDR app processing pics

The secret to processing the photo's seems to be leave the phone charging while the app processes the pics, or it gets stuck. Once they are processed the app returns to an ordinary size...the more pics to be processed, the larger the app grows. If it doesnt go back to about 4mb use app manager to delete data, go back to the app and reload your pics so they can be edited. If you clear data before the processing, you might have the separate exposure pics in an ordinary gallery, but the combined pics will be lost.
It's possible to combine pics with a serif photo plus programme on a pc.

Pro hdr camera still takes awsome pics, and can process them, and then doesnt grow... but maybe not trying to take twenty pics at a time..

Take the pics a few at a time, wait for the processing (then they are in the hdr gallery as processed pics, otherwise the two or three pics to combine are in thumbnails) then clear the data before taking more pics
The quality is worth it.

Pro HDR camera

Still an app that bloats or grows on my phone and this time it wouldnt complete the processing...the only solution was to copy the pics to the computer with an sd card adapter...then in app management settings clear the app data...

Fun pics

The picsin kaleidoscope makes patterns and repeats them (picsin does lots of other fun editing stuff) toy kaleidoscope makes patterns from the camera pointing at objects (and other interesting patterns) and photofunia has lots templates you can add pics to. Make as many as you like...then try them in photo to lab for other super templates...hours of creative fun.

scary techi world...it looks (from the icons that turned up on.mi xperia arc) that when u update the software via wifi the old software gets uploaded an then the new downloaded...dont risk weak, dodgy signals...takes orange ages to reset after...and even longer for apps ...HOWEVER ...mi software really has updated via wifi (i havn't turnd it off an on again yet)...

So far...

The Sony xperia mini was soooo wonderful when i first got my android phone in February of this year...i was so brokenhearted when it broke...and the mini fashion replacement was a swap i could hardly bear to make...then to find the software couldnt upgrade past 2.1 and would never allow me to save apps to the sd card...well i kept the lovely mini fashion and love it still...but decided to buy an arc on contract...the wollypark wordpress blog linked to this blog tells the summer story of blogging from my phone...its cool, it's taken so long to look and try apps, now i realise the androids really need 16Gb sd card to avoid problems, apps to auto kill apps, memory usage apps, and file manager apps...anyone know why a simple paragraph or two with the phone on any of this info still hasn't been included by either the manufacturer, the ph contract co or the android market???
As a flip side i have jus found more timescape app addons...flickr, rss and photo's...haha the widget only goes on a sony homescreen that plays up and wont let u add anything...i could still run it on the mini fashion...but would have to pay datacharges pay as u go (although at home...pardon the pun...theres wifi) cool eh...location says i'm always home...
My thoughts are...if it was anything other than a 'smart' phone concept the whole android thing would be deemed unfit for the purpose...why is the customer trialling suspect apps and coping with limited phone space etc etc
It's a hobby, an ongoing thing, for like camera geeks people who like endless changes and tweeks...it's almost techno-addictive...basically it's stupid...if i have to root it, it's going back...ok...
I'm now going to treat myself to an android holiday...i loved my w995 its still easier to work reliable takes awsome pics, just cant read websites too well. I loved the xperia mini but linking it to my pc crashed the pc...i quite like my xperia arc...but eight months to get it to where you want it with all the info...and still on limited phone memory is really stupid...
Roll on the android tablet, honeycombe (no it wont be compatible with the phone) and ice-cream sandwich operating system...v v funny
I bought a book (from a real bookshop) it's an biography of one of the google start up team called I'm feeling lucky... I think the luck with these guys...like the android market is that we put up with them...

Brill i changed my sd card from 8Gb to 16Gb without problems

Just put the 8Gb in an sd card adapter and copied all the files by highlighting them all and pasting to a new folder...i went safe eject usb (the storage adapter) put the 16Gb card in the adapter copied the files onto it...checked they were all the same, and in the same order at both staged...put the card back in the phone...it even kept my smart shortcut bookmark icons ...
I didnt unmount my sd card...i was worried it would ask for a factory reset from reading forums...
So far so good no problems...

Nottingham super funfair is being held this week (same as every week for the last 700-something years) it's called the Goose Fair, is held on the Forest Recreation ground (no not the football ground) and is nothing to do with Geese anymore...but lots to do with FUN..

HDR Camera Pro App files

The files to this app are in sdcard/picture/originals, on my Sony xperia arc...each file is about 2Mg and there are three photos to each hdr pic...light dark and blend...so they take up alot of space
Quickpic app allows you to batch delete files and has all the pics in their own folders...i havnt checked if it deletes from sdcard/pictures/originals yet

Space on the sd card...

SIt's not possible to delete the files from the phone card using a computer, unless it's got the right operating system...i think...

This means sorting the sd card on the phone...

Two apps seem essential to do this, but everyone can test apps they find on the market, and there are new ones being developed all the time...

I found App monster pro, to send a list of apps by email, and create a backup (the pro version cost £2.40ish...the free one wont send the email list)
Adao File Manager that lets u locate files and delete them...like lost.dir...
sdcard/picture files (the DCIM folder is the gallery app contents, i think)

Also a third helpful app was system tracker pro that let me obtain a storage card analysis...

Moving to a larger sd memory card

Problem...= hundreds of apps on the 8Gb sd card, with data files attached.
So how do i transfer the apps AND the data files, bearing in mind the sony xperis arc (and all android phones) run on linux...and my computer has a windows operating system and internet explorer...

I looked at this site for inspiration...i think it says i cant sort it without a computer running on linux so the ph and the computer are talking the same language

http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html

I have given up and emailed Sony Ericsson customer support

My network provider says...use an sd card adapter and copy the sd card contents, unmount the sd card, insert the new one...download all the apps again from my account on the android market and then put the new card in the sd card adapter and copy all the sd card files back to the new, larger sd card....HAHAHAHA it might work for images and songs, (but might not...app permissions etc) but i dont think it will work for app specific data coz it wont be able to read the same computer language...i might be wrong...

Maybe i should buy an android tablet with mega mega storage and an sd card slot THEN it will probably work...OR partition my computer and install linux on part of the hard drive

Maybe i dont have any faith in my new technology...perhaps it will work...watch this space...

To clear the Browser app bookmarks held in your phone memory

To sort the bookmark data on a sony xperia arc
Go settings manage applications choose sort apps by size
Locate the browser app
Make sure you have a way of getting your necessary bookmarks back...like a delicious membership (free) online with a phone essential bookmark folderand the andricious app on your phone
understand some apps with bookmark use wont work after the clearout until you have the bookmarks it uses back in your phone
(to send bkmks to delicious via andricious app you use share)
Now you can use the clear data option on the browser app...which will clear it out and remove the bookmarks stored in your phone memory and the browser app will go back to its basic state

SPACE

My android was running out of sd card and ph memory...panic...sony's pc companion and media go will only work with all (all?? i cdnt believe it) the apps disabled...solution
...i used an sd card adapter, copied the DCIM folder sub folder by sub folder to my laptop pics folder...deleted the ones on the ph card, except the HDR folder, and remade the folder names...the sd card gains 1.6Gb on my ph.
The ph card...i went settings, app mgment...found the growing HDR app and deleted its data...not the app (the app creator sez i can do this)....on the same premise i deleted mi email data (had to set my emails up again) and my plume data....
The ph mem has increased from 12Mb to 60Mb....i still have my HDR photos on mi fav gallery.

Wifi

After all the kind-of hassle of mobile broadband...(so i could use my less than 500ghtz netbook anywhere theres a signal including the local park)...and a two or three year old router stuck in the cupboard, the bt-bband was finally ordered and setup up at home...why pay for dongles all this time u ask...because i wanted to 'work' anywhere and also because a pay as u go homephone was awsome ...but bt stopped that system a year ago...then the android seemed the answer...(maybe i needed a tablet not a smart phone?? is the question i'm asking myself now...but it still wouldn't design websites with programmes designed for windows) so i set my android up hoping it would let me update stuff anytime anywhere...(little did i know how long and how much updating ph software and downloading apps would take!!) ...and then orange caused so much chaos with a ph that wouldnt save apps to the sd card...and with the arc they agreed to credit 1gbyte month for the hassle ...but even that wasnt enough data to download all the apps and run the phone after it crashed and they sent a replacement....now its possible to blog and take photo's and upload them again... The learning curve is ok but now my fav launcher app *spark that lets me post to faceb and twitter has disappeared off the market...and the aim was to uninstall it to make room to uninstall and reinstall pro hdr camera that was a growing app...to sort that on mobile bband could take lots trys and lots data...but with wifi app juggling mite be simpler...might be...watch this space..

My other Android blog...

The Flow Chart info update

Strangely i can read the Flow Chart pic post on my www.androidsushi.wordpress.com/ blog...

Mi Flow chart isnt brill on the pc either

OK so it was an experiment... the flow chart file isnt readable as it turns up as a thumbprint... there must be a way round this, but to send my pic to the laptop i need a bluetooth on/off app, a bluetooth file transfer app and because it takes ages to get both systems to run together, an app that will task manage.
The bluetooth on the phone only allows sound or media stuff... so for example i can work a bluetooth headset...but not transfer files.
I dont want to link the sony xperia arc to my pc as my sony mini phone nearly crashed the pc...sony say its because i am using mobile broadband on both the pc and the phone and the system doesnt know which one to use...wifi at home may solve that prob but i am so wary i dont want to try it.
I can use an sd card adapter to put mi sd storage card in and copy the files i want to copy.
As the pic is in a gallery it may work...but if it still resizes to thumbnail on the blog...that wont work either...maybe some software that reduces pic size without the resolution going would work... if thats possible ...
i think a file on the internet with a hyperlink may still be the best solution.
I can see the pic quite clearly on my own phone...

pro HDR camera app

Keep an eye on it, if it grows on yoyr phone too, when u take photos...try the latest update, if that doesnt work uninstall and re-install gets it back to a sensible size...its such an awsome app (even if photo taking takes 50secs) its worth it.

Auto updates can crash yr ph..

If u have an app that grows, or where updates either send a duplicate app or more mbytes...or even if u have loads apps...they can send tons data...poss crash the phone or use up all your data allowance...choose manual.

Blogger-droid, Wordpress, Tumbler apps

Both Blogger-droid and Wordpress allow u to post to several accounts and complete basic design and obviously upload info and photos, u cant select the widgets with Wordpress...but u can find and choose a theme...(on an android phone...i dont think it would work on a tablet either as you need to be able to drag and drop)
With Tumblr its the same theme wise... but to choose a theme takes lots mbytes as their theme garden downloads hundreds ...and the premium few to initially choose from are payfor premium themes if u arent fussy u can choose one of the first ones to loadup...on both Wordpress and Tumbler u need to use the browser login and settings to activate themes.
This means u can make a blog on any of these three with their app, do a quick design through the browser and tweak it later on a pc....this blogger blog was made totally with my sony ericsson xperia arc.
Blogger seems to be the easiest....sign in and post with the google account, and use your goigle account password to post stuff...

About a FengShui concept

FengShui is about the chi of a place or space...android phones can use apps that are written in the same code but have varying levels of efficiency and they dont all have a common specification framework...therefore I think they have a kind of feng-shui about them, so they can all work seamlessly and create an awsome android experience...
